Life as a BSO student in London

Student life at the BSO combines the intimacy and lively atmosphere of a university with the freedom and variety that comes with living in central London.

Student life

Our students have wide interests and in addition to their studies, enjoy an active and varied social life. They debate with the Manus Sinistra society, they meditate at yoga, learn martial arts skills and much more. Whatever your hobbies and interests, it is likely that you will find like-minded people at the BSO.

The Borough site has a number of facilities available for students including:

  • Bar and chill out area
  • Space for sports, yoga and pilates
  • Rooms for film nights, music practice and more

Out and about

We are based in Central London in one of the capital's most exciting districts; Borough. Located just south of the new Shard skyscraper and the beautiful South Bank of the River Thames, Borough has a unique atmosphere that combines the old with the new and the lively with the tranquil.

From the famous farmers' and artisan foods market, to traditional greasy spoon cafes to international cuisine, there is no shortage of places to eat. We are also spoilt for choice when it comes to watering holes, with a plethora of old school British pubs, wine bars and live music venues.

Borough is within walking distance of landmark attractions such as Shakespeare's Globe, the South Bank Centre and the Tate Modern. Just over the river, is the City of London, St Paul's and easy access to Shoreditch and Soho.
