Osteopathy course information

Osteopathy is a rewarding and flexible career, but one which requires commitment and professionalism.

In order to practice as an osteopath in the UK you must first undertake a course of study that holds Recognised Qualification (RQ) status with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), and then register with GOsC as a practitioner. Osteopaths must then also undertake continuing professional development (CPD) throughout their career to ensure their knowledge and skills remain up-to-date.

At present over 40% of practicing osteopaths in the UK are BSO graduates. As the only osteopathic school in Europe with the power to award our own degrees, we currently offer a Master of Osteopathy (M.Ost) undergraduate degree on a full- and part-time basis, as well as a range of Postgraduate Certificates and CPD courses for qualified osteopaths to continue their studies. By popular demand, we have also introduced a course that allows qualified physiotherapists and doctors interested in enhancing their manual therapy skills to qualify in osteopathy.

BSO-trained osteopaths treat patients from all walks of life including athletes, actors and dancers, children, older people and pregnant women. Studying with us combines a real sense of community and a lively atmosphere of a university with the freedom and variety that comes with living in central London.
