Students that wish to study the Introduction to Osteopathic Sciences (IOS) course can apply for this programme at the same time as their application for the degree. If your application is shortlisted then you will have one interview to determine your suitability for both the IOS and degree course.

We hold regular Open Afternoon sessions where anyone can come along and find out more about osteopathy and studying at the BSO. They give you the chance to meet practising osteopaths, watch them demonstrating osteopathic technique, and ask them about their work. You can also find out more about how studying at the BSO would fit in with you own particular circumstances. Open afternoons are scheduled for the following dates, from 2pm to 4.30pm unless otherwise stated:
To book onto one of our open days, please email your name, preferred date(s) and contact details to: or call on 020 7089 5316. If you are unable to attend one of these events, or if you would like to visit the BSO during your school or college holidays, Jordan and Shanaz will try and make alternative arrangements for you.
We think that the best people to tell you about a career in osteopathy are practising osteopaths themselves. We have a network of osteopaths who are happy to meet with you and talk to you about the realities of practice life, so you can be sure that this is the right career for you. Once you've decided to apply to the BSO, our Admissions team will try to put you in contact with someone in your area who can answer your questions.
All students that have or are working towards the right qualifications that submit a full application with strong personal statement will be invited to the school for an Interview and Evaluation (I&E) Event. The I&E days are designed to assess your suitability to become a student at the BSO. During the day you will be invited to take part in a number of challenges, such as practical aptitude tests. These allow us to evaluate your potential to benefit from the course, as academic ability is only one part of the qualities you'll need to be an osteopath. Another benefit of the day is that you get a chance to 'try out' osteopathy and the BSO, helping you to make the right choice of career and institution for your future.
