Entering the professionOsteopathy is an enormously rewarding career. As a health care professional you will be helping people every day of your working life. Osteopathy is a recognised profession regulated by government and used increasingly by the NHS. And it is a flexible profession – you can work when and where you choose (including many countries around the world) at different stages of your career.

We teach people from a very broad range of ages and backgrounds. Some students come to us from A-levels, whilst others come to osteopathy as a career change. Many students decide to retrain as osteopaths after careers as diverse as sportspeople and city dealers.

The BSO Admissions Department works hard to ensure you make an informed decision about whether osteopathy is the right career for you:

  • Prospectus: Contains comprehensive details about the B.Ost and the School.
  • Open afternoons: We strongly recommend you come and talk to us, and practising osteopaths, about study, the profession and your options.
  • Regional Osteopathic Careers Officers: An opportunity to visit a practising osteopath in your local area.
  • Introduction and evaluation days: Intensive post-application assessment days.

Full details of the application procedure and other aspects of becoming an osteopath can be found at at Undergraduate study and in the prospectus.

We look forward to meeting you at an Open Day. You can also contact our Admissions Department on 020 7 089 5316 or click here to email Admissions – one of our friendly team will be happy to talk to you informally and answer any questions you might have.
