Meet the BSO team: Cormac O'Dalaigh

In this time's 'meet the team' series, we find out about Cormac and his role with the BSO.

Our friendly reception team are the first point of contact for all clinic bookings and services. The team have worked together for a long time and they run a smooth, professional reception.

Hi Cormac!  What do you do at the BSO?
Hello there! I am the Reception Manager and so I have responsibility for the administrative and customer service sides of our public clinic.
Who do you work with on a day to day basis?
Primarily I work with the brilliant clinic reception team - and what an international set up we have here at the BSO. Camy is British, I am Irish (OK, not so exotic!), Bruno is French, Aleks is Serbian, Kevin is American and Aerton is from a little Island off the West Coast of Africa - Sao Tome and Principe. We have been working together for many years now and we get on like a family - sure, sometimes we annoy each other but there's a lot of love!!
I also work closely with the clinic tutors & students to ensure we provide the best possible care for our patients.
What's your favourite thing about working at the BSO?
I've worked in a few different industries but working here you feel that in some small way you are making a quantifiable difference to people's lives, even if it is in the smallest way. It reminds me of the story (probably exaggerated) about the man in the corridor of one of the NASA buildings, with a bucket and mop, who was asked by President Kennedy what his job was and he said "I'm helping put a man on the moon". When a year group of students get to the end of a challenging few years and celebrate their qualification, you experience their joy and feel a sense of pride in their achievements. Strange but true!
Cormac works full-time over at our clinic on Southwark Bridge Road, you can meet him and the team by arranging a visit to the BSO via the admissions team (email or call +44 207 089 5357)
