Since our foundation in 1917, the BSO has grown from a small school offering professional training to a leading provider of osteopathic education, research and health care.
During that time we have supported thousands of students in the pursuit and development of their osteopathic careers, and have made a difference to hundreds of thousands of patients though our clinics.
Throughout 2017 we will be organising a number of special events and activities to celebrate our 100th anniversary, and we would love you – whatever your connection to the BSO – to help us mark this significant moment in our history. Here are some of the ways, big and small, we will be celebrating:
Centenary drinks reception, Thursday 2 March
Invited guests will be joining us for a special drinks reception at St James’ Palace, hosted by BSO patron HRH The Princess Royal.
Centenary Ball, Saturday 24 June
We would like to invite all staff and students past and present to join us for a special centenary ball, to be held in the stylish surroundings of the Hilton London Bankside hotel. The evening will include welcome drinks, a delicious three-course meal, awards, music, dancing and entertainment. To find out more and book your ticket visit Eventbrite.
Centenary Conference, 9 December
We will be holding a special academic conference this December at the Hilton London Bankside Hotel. Details to be announced shortly.
Littlejohn Memorial Lecture, date to be announced
Following a gap of a number of years since the last Littlejohn lecture, which was delivered by Professor Tyreman, the school will be delivering the Littlejohn lecture to celebrate our centenary. Details to follow.
We would love to hear from former staff, students and patients about any memories they have of their time at the BSO. If you have any memorable stories and photos you would be willing to share, please send us an email.
