The BSO offers a full programme of qualifications and training, at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. For a copy of our course information leaflet, please click here.
Our innovative M.Ost degree programmes lead to qualifications that enable you to register as an osteopath with the General Osteopathic Council. The programme can either be full time (over four years) or part time, studying mainly at the weekends (over five years).
Our Access to Higher Education diploma (Osteopathic Sciences and Health Care) course is a one year course for those who would like to study for a career in osteopathy but don’t have all the necessary academic qualifications to study immediately at degree level. This is delivered on a flexible basis, mainly on Friday evenings and Saturdays to allow students to work while they study.
We also offer an intensive Introduction to Osteopathic Sciences (IOS) course for potential M.Ost students who have proven academic achievement but who lack a solid grounding in the sciences. This is delivered over three months, with contact days at the BSO (on set weekends) with personal study to achieve the learning outcomes.
We have one postgraduate programme that leads to qualification as an osteopath for qualified physiotherapists or doctors:
MSc Osteopathy - pre-registration (2 years, full-time)
We currently offer a Professional Doctorate in Osteopathy, a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic and Clinical Education. A new Masters in Osteopathy is offered from September 2012. All of these postgraduate programmes are designed to support osteopaths in their work, with a strong focus on application to practice.
